I attended Rutgers -Newark and obtained my undergraduate degree in criminal justice in 2002. I became the first Latina archivist in the state when I received my master's degree in Library & Info. Science with a Certificate in Advanced Studies in Archives and Records Management from LIU in 2007. I currently work for the Puerto Rican Community Archive. Under my direction, the PRCA has accessioned over 40 historically valuable collections from the Puerto Rican communities of NJ over the past 7 years. Additionally, I initiated a community project, Organizing Our Communities' Records. I've been committed to serving my community as a volunteer in numerous organizations for the past 12 years.
