I earned my bachelors in history from Simmons in 2011 and am working toward a masters in history in the GSLIS dual degree program. I have always had an interest in cultural preservation on the local and national level. I am interested in the impact of collective memory on national myth and individual reality, too. I'm a passionate consumer of ebooks while still holding closely my most coveted hardcover titles (HP7, of course). My professional interests rest in creating safe spaces for the rebuilding or maintenance of communities' histories and identities. As an archivist I want to work to make sure that people have open access to information that they have a RIGHT to, and I think this is somehow becoming more difficult to define in the internet era. Ultimately, I'm excited to get my hands on some tech savvy lingo and unique professional workshop experiences to really hone my next academic steps.
