As an undergrad at N.C. State University, I studied the intersection of humanities and technology, graduating with a degree in Science, Technology and Society. Since then, I've worked as a Web producer at a television news station, figuring out how to use new technology to tell news stories, then shared that knowledge as a full-time adviser with students in a college newsroom. Now at the Reporters' Lab, one of my main roles is to build a community interested in government transparency and open-source solutions for public affairs journalism.
