Although my training is in American literature, poetry and poetics, my scholarship and teaching interests have long focused on the study and practice of digital culture and community in and out of the classroom. I offer a three-course curriculum at the Computer Science department at UNC-Chapel Hill on digital culture, digital-age ethics and cyberculture at various levels of theory and practice. Currently, I'm grappling with the eternal question of whether the zombie apocalypse or the cyborg apocalypse is most useful as a framework for teaching moral reasoning. I'm also interested in using digital media and tools to introduce, or reintroduce, play and performance into the classroom at all levels and in the presentation of scholarship.
