I am an associate professor of English at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, where I have worked for the past 13 years. I received my PhD from Rutgers University. My area of specialization is Early Modern English literature; I also have an interest in Victorian literature. I have published a book, The Heroines of English Pastoral Romance (Boydell and Brewer, 2006), and I have published journal articles on Edmund Spenser, Philip Sidney, and Abraham Cowley. Currently I am on sabbatical from Monmouth for the spring semester (2013). I am working on an article about the influence of the Baroque painter Salvator Rosa on Emily Bronte. As a midlife scholar, I wish to revitalize my teaching and research practices through exploration of some of the many possibilities offered by the digital humanities universe.
