I am an Assistant Teaching Professor of Italian language, literature, and culture in the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics at Syracuse University. Before joining Syracuse University, I taught at Brown University (where I completed my PhD in Italian Studies), Wellesley College, Cornell University, and the University of Oklahoma. Besides a variety of courses in Medieval-Renaissance Italian literature and culture, I have taught courses in the area of digital humanities with a focus on comparative digital literature (in particular Italian and American literatures) and digital Italian Studies across different countries, languages, and cultures. I published essays on Italian literature and critical theory and I authored the book, Ideas: Dante, Gramsci e il sardo comune, which was awarded the Antonio Gramsci Prize. I am also completing a second book manuscript with the tentative title The Vernacular in Counterpoint: Language, Exile, and Poetry of Praxis in Dante.
