I've been around in Humanities Computing and DH for a while, since I was an undergraduate in the mid-1980s, and still find DH work and the DH community to be consistently among the most exciting, engaging, and invigorating in which I participate. At the moment, I spend most of my time thinking about how our book-based communicative past relates to our computationally-facilitated communicative future -- and the important role humanists and digital humanists have to play in that future.
