I teach Slavic linguistics and specialize in historical linguistics and dialectology. I serve as linguistics editor of Slavia Centralis, an international "gold" open-access and print journal for Slavic linguistics and literature. Currently I am serving as chair of the department of Germanic Languages & Literatures at KU.
