I received my PhD in History from the University of Southern California in 2014 and am currently an Affiliated Postdoctoral Scholar with the Huntington-USC Institute on California and the West and an adjunct lecturer at the University of Indianapolis and Marian University. My research focuses on Post-World War II urban history, policing and crime policy, and social movements. I am currently revising a book manuscript entitled “Managing Marginalization: Policing and Crime Control Policy in Late-Twentieth Century Los Angeles” explores the punitive turn in urban policy, crime control, and policing in late- Los Angeles between the 1965 Watts uprising and the 1992 Los Angeles rebellion.
