My own research and pre-academic work experience has focused on public land and water management in the U.S. Northwest. I continue to research and write on public resource issues in the U.S. West, focusing more recently on water. I am an environmental historian of the modern U.S. I am also department chair. I helped to create and direct a professional master's degree program in digital history at Idaho State.
