I studied musicology at Utrecht University, and specialized in musical cultures of the 15th and 16th century. Afterwards I worked at Utrecht University Library, SURF and am currently part time employed at DANS – the data archive of NWO and KNAW –, enhancing my musicology background with experience in projects related to innovations in scholarly communications, research data, Open Access and research infrastructures. In my PhD research (at UU) I apply the concepts and methods of network theory on the dissemination of music in the sixteenth century. Furthermore I am Associate Director of the CMME Project (www.cmme.org), a project which provides an online corpus of electronic, dynamic editions of music from the 15th and 16th century.
