I got my BA in Liberal Arts with a concentration in the Humanities at New College of Florida in 2011. My undergraduate thesis was on fairy tales and their role in gender socialization; I examined tales of the tale-type AT425-A to determine if they could be seen as agents of patriarchal messages socialization, or as sites of women's power. I'm also involved in fan cultures online--my current main fandom is Half-Life (the videogame by Valve Software), and I'm told I'm one of the better fanfiction writers in the community (in fairness, there's not very many of us, and even fewer who aren't just writing parodies).
