i'm an actor and grad student currently on the job market and teaching sometimes-theater, sometimes-writing to undergraduates while i finish a dissertation. my dissertation brings new media and performance together in a consideration of the subjunctive possibilities of both media and performance--or, less douchily, explores the potential for each to provide opportunities to act "as if," to assume, innovate or imagine circumstances and realities. i like zizek, but am also pretty intimidated by his work. i'm a huge henry jenkins fan.
