Currently working (3yrs) as the assistant repository manager at a university library (metadata management & open access). Prior to this, I have worked on the on the development and implementation of interactive online learning tools and websites for foreign language learning in the academic setting. I recently graduated with an MA in American (Indian) studies, where I did cultural & historical research on identity formation and the boarding school era. My dream is to find a place where I can work towards a PhD in American Indian studies, and build a database containing (oral) testimonies and histories on a specific topic related to the boarding school era, complete with transcriptions, metadata tags, copies of the original source material. The db should become an (open) source for mappings and aid historical analyses on the specific topic. Can't think of a better way of combining the things I am passionate about!
