I have BAs in Political Science and History. I'm working on my MA in Political Science with a focus on race and ethnic politics. My interests center around religion and African American politics, gender and African American politics, and African American political behavior. I am currently researching a small, historically segregated, African American community in Commerce, Texas. For my thesis, I am going to tackle the issue of whether the rural black church has the same ability to politically mobilize congregants as the urban black church.
