In 2007-8, while completing a Ph.D. in the English Department at U.Va., I served as one of the inaugural scholars' lab fellows, where I pursued a project keyed to the preparation of a digital gazetteer about _The Maximus Poems_ of Charles Olson. Since then I've also worked on a similar project keyed to _The Cantos_ of Ezra Pound, and I've presented work related to these projects to the Association of American Geographers. As for Nicholas Carr, Slavoj Žižek, Galaga, and so forth, my job title gives me a broad mandate to work in literature, film studies, and media studies, so I'm especially interested in translating Žižek's propensity for cinematic thinking into the realm of the digital humanities.
