I'm a Cree/Dene digital media producer & hip-hop artist from Frog Lake First Nation, Alberta, currently based on the west coast of Turtle Island. I am the Creative Producer of Revolutions Per Minute (RPM.fm) — a new site dedicated to Indigenous Music Culture; and I am a Ph.D. student in Indigenous Governance at the University of Victoria. My research explores Indigenous hip-hop's political and pedagogical potential and the evolving, ambivalent relationship between Indigenous Peoples, media, and digital technologies. In previous professional lives, I was the News Director at the world's largest participatory news network, NowPublic.com; a host of the cross-platform/convergence series ZeD on CBC Television; host of the experimental music program, Brave New Waves, on CBC Radio 2; and a co-founder of The New Forms Festival, Vancouer's annual celebration of digital arts, music and technology. I occasionally rap solo, and I used to kick it with a live band and some laptop geeks.
