A multifarious art worker, Jacqueline Mabey logged almost ten years in post-secondary institutions across Canada, including Wilfrid Laurier University, McGill University, and The University of British Columbia, studying primarily modern and contemporary art history, but also film studies, cultural studies, media theory, and curatorial studies. She worked in the film industry in Halifax, as assistant to director Thom Fitzgerald, interned at Zeke’s Gallery in Montreal, and worked in curatorial and public programming positions at the West Vancouver Museum and the Morris and Helen Belkin Art Gallery in Vancouver, respectively. Since moving to New York City in 2009, Mabey has expanded her professional expertise in the field of contemporary art to include studio administration, archival practices, print and electronic communications, publications, online outreach, and digital community management. Currently, Mabey works independently under the honorific, The office of failed projects. She lives with a small dog next to a large park in Brooklyn.
