I began collecting women suffrage postcards over ten years ago. I bumped into them on e-Bay while searching for Rosie the Riveter items. I was completing an encyclopedia entry and just wanted to see what was out there. Finding them very humurous, I started collecting to show people. People begain to request electronic copies and then professors started to ask if I could post for the classes. So to describe them online better, I decided to get a Master's degree in Women's Studies! I believe in information being widely dispersed and that is what I would like to do with my collection. Being at Yale, I have attended numerous workshops and lectures at the Whitney Humanties Center and the Beiecke LIbrary. I have a unique collecting responsibility as I purchase in a wide range of topics and see the interconnectedness and the history per se. I just love that! Soon as a side project, I will be going to a Historical Costumer's Workshop as I like to know how clothes evolved. I studied medieval history in my 20s but alas, no degree. As for my technical skills, I would say I'm an intermediate. I know how to fix problems. I can install drivers, software, the right cables, and memory. I know enough to say that used to be a bigger deal. I know what a sniffer is and used LaTEx long ago. I very proficient in Excel and other programs and yes, I would love to talk to other people to get into this conversation.
