I work as an archivist for the Upper Hutt City Library Heritage Collections. We've recently implemented a Web 2.0-enabled online database aimed at crowdsourcing heritage knowledge from our local community. I'm also working on a Victoria University School of Information Studies research project aimed at discerning the extent and effectiveness of current efforts to foster participatory culture on New Zealand cultural heritage websites.
