Schuyler Esprit is Assistant Professor of English at Trinity Washington University in Washington, DC. She completed her PhD in English at University of Maryland, College Park, with a dissertation entitled Occasions for Reading: Literary Encounters and the Making of the West Indies, now being revised and expanded for a book manuscript . As a literary historian, Esprit researches and teaches Caribbean literary and cultural studies, postcolonial theory, African Diaspora studies, and critical theory.
