I am a graduate student at York university, specializing in video game studies. I have some coding knowledge, but it is woefully outdated. I can still, however, animate in Flash and work Photoshop like a pro. My recent work has been in discussion of the ways in which Metzian cinematic semiotics are used in games to establish the idea of real-world places, examining the social politics of Final Fantasy VII, and examining the ways in which women are presented, both in terms of representation and gamically, in video games.
