I have an MFA from the Art Institute of Chicago and a PhD from the University of Arkansas, where I studied and wrote about information overload in both early modern England and 21st-century America. I was and still am interested in the ways in which standards for credibility change when technologies change. I'm also interested in the (productively?) anti-humanist possibilities of copia and collecting in physical and digital environments. I like Nicholas Carr, but I don't believe that Google is making us stupid.
