I was an early "digital projects" person, doing an early online edition of Jonathan Swift's "A Tale of a Tub," back in my first year in graduate school (1996). I later went on to do the "Texture Words" project, which was an early attempt (without any math or programming skills) at what is now called "Textual Mining" in Digital Humanities circles. More recently, I was part of the turn to academic blogging in the mid-2000s, with my own personal blog as well as involvement in group blogs such as The Valve and Sepia Mutiny (both of which are now defunct). In 2012, a blog post of mine on the shooting at the Sikh Gurdwara at Oak Creek in Wisconsin was reprinted in the New York Times.
