).My research centres broadly around twentieth-century British literature, cultural studies, and mass media. My first book, The Vitality of Influence (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014), considers how visual images contribute to understandings of textual influence, and I am currently at work on a new project that asks how the concepts of silence and absence have been used as metaphors to understand European literary culture during the twentieth-century. My published work includes articles and book chapters on an array of modern and contemporary authors including Bram Stoker, Willa Cather, E.M. Forster, Evelyn Waugh, Henry James, T.S. Eliot, and Alan Hollinghurst. I am also currently the Evernote Higher Education Ambassador.
