I'm an assistant professor of Romance Studies at Bowdoin College, where my teaching responsibilities are divided between Italian and Film Studies. I'm working on a book entitled "Modern Rome between the Sacred and the Profane", which focuses on the ways in which Italian filmmakers have explored Rome's dual identity as capital of the modern Italian state and the capital of Christianity. I'm interested in using the tools of digital humanities to extend my research, and would like to learn more about other projects that engage with cinema.
