edit sidebar in wordpress

hey all, I would love to edit the sidebar of the wordpress for our THATcamp so that the date and location can be seen on the homepage but I can’t seem to figure out how to change it.

i mean something like that site of the Bay Area 2011 website has in the sidebar, the “When?Where?” part… http://bayarea2011.thatcamp.org

if someone has clues for me they’d be very welcome!

Sure thing! The basic way is to go to Appearance –> Widgets and to drag a “Text” widget over to your sidebar. When you let it go, it will give you a place to type in a title and text.
