Prior to joining Brumfield Labs, Sara Carlstead Brumfield spent 17 years as a software engineer with IBM. She led development and support teams focused on system and network management products, serving as a focal point for large enterprise customers and inventing or co-inventing eight patents. Sara's user centered software development experience will ensure that what we propose to build will make sense technically and be a flexible, usable platform for our stakeholders. She has a BA in Computer Science and the Study of Women and Gender from Rice University. Her relevant work includes: Civil War Governors of Kentucky, Digital Documentary Edition (2016 - 2017) Planning and implementation of phase 2 of the NHPRC funded project. Particularly, MashBill, a system for collaborative authoring of relationships between entities mentioned within documents and visualizations of relationships between entities. Digital Austin Papers (2013-present) Revision and enhancement to a website hosting the papers of Stephen F. Austin, including data correction, geo-coding, and semantic analysis visualization for the University of North Texas. FromThePage (2006 - present) Numerous customer sponsored projects to extend FromThePage for specialized documentary editing users including the transcription of mathematical and logical formulae, encoding and CSV export of financial accounting data, classroom use, and support of ingestion and presentation of IIIF resources. PontIIIF: Search and Discovery for IIIF Content (September-October 2016) Creation of a crawler and search engine for content made available in IIIF/JSON-LD. IIIF (International Image Interoperability Format) is an emerging standard for cultural heritage image publication.
