I'm the Dean of Library and Information Services and Chief Information Officer at Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont. In that capacity, I lead a merged library and IT organization that provides information services to our undergraduate college, summer language schools, the Bread Loaf School of English, and the Monterey Institute for International Studies. Current projects that might be relevant for this meeting include: The Lever Initiative ( http://leverinitiative.wordpress.com, @LeverInitiative ) a feasibility study to explore the creation of a born-digital press out of the Oberlin Group of libraries. Board of Directors for Anvil Academic (http://anvilacademic.org ) a scholarly publisher of born-digital and born-again-digital research in the humanities Re-boot of Academic Commons (http://academiccommons.org ) a journal that covers the intersection of library, technology, and liberal education. My recent article in Educause Quarterly might also be of interest. It's "Is Linking Thinking? Addressing and Assessing Scholarship in a Digital Era" . On campus, we are hard at work developing a digital scholarship strategy, and I am hoping that this unconference will help us advance this effort, especially in the area of thinking about how we might collaborate through shared services.
