I'm a fellow at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard and a senior researcher at metaLAB, a research collective exploring media in the humanities. I'm the author of Library: An Unquiet History (Norton 2003), Widener: Biography of a Library, and have covered arts, culture, science, and technology for a variety of publications.
