I direct content and strategy for MapStory.org, an open data platform where people publish and peer-review spatial-temporal data sets (StoryLayers) and compose rich narratives based on these StoryLayers and other types of media (MapStories). My experience prior to MapStory includes coordinating service-learning programs in the Chicago Public Schools, co-founding the Center for Global Engagement at Northwestern University, conducting field research on post-conflict reconstruction programs in Uganda as a Fulbright Scholar, and staffing the Council of Chief State School Officers’ Innovation Lab as a Senior Associate. I grew up in Rockford, Illinois, studied political science and education at Northwestern University, and earned a Master’s of Philosophy from the National University of Ireland, Galway. On a volunteer basis I also edit cityofwordsdc.org, an effort to map and reflect upon quotations posted in DC.
