I am a philologist who had the guts to reinvent herself into a digital humanities. It is not easy but it is fun. I have 2 ongoing projects: Entiendelo is an app that helps Latin@s and their advocates to navigate stressful situations, especially those related to intimate partner and domestic violence, where the language is a barrier. It focuses on the specific contributions that technology and language support can make to non-English speakers in multiple stressful environments, and ties to important cultural and historical concepts of self and community. RoadAmico is a content platform/CMS tool specifically designed with the study abroad/experiential learner in mind. It provides thematic, geolocated and chronolocated itineraries linked to a course topic. Allows for virtual and immersive learning, self-guidance and collaborative work.
