I grew up in northeastern Florida but have lived in the Detroit area for about 16 years. I am a generalist in every sense of the word--with a few exceptions, my knowledge tends to be inch deep, mile wide. Most of my professional experience comes from the library reference publishing industry, including work on print books, CD-ROMs, eBooks, and web products (dating back to 1998). I've been PMP project management certified since 2007 and was for a while a project manager leading Agile and waterfall software development teams; my last role in publishing was as a technical content implementation manager. I started at The Henry Ford in mid-2011, and am now Digital Collections and Content Manager in THF’s Digital and Emerging Media Department. I work as a program manager for THF’s collections digitization efforts, bringing together a cross-functional team to prioritize and manage ongoing digitization work. I also act as collections content representative on new and existing digital products with internal staff and external agencies and vendors. My role has expanded slightly recently, and I am starting to get involved with digital content in the broader sense, including how to showcase and connect digitized collections content in order to tell stories on the web.
