I'm a first year PhD student at Waterloo and I come from an English lit BA and MA, so I'm still pretty new to the whole "digital" part of humanities. I'm working hard to catch up though, and I'm in love with weird and quirky flash games. I'm sure Nicholas Carr is a great guy, but I didn't like "The Shallows". I've never played Galaga (shame!) and I am pretty sure that I would be bad at it. Can you be a games scholar if you are really bad at playing games?
