I am Associate Director at the Franklin Humanities Institute at Duke University, where I have worked since 2006. My job responsibilities include day-to-day management of the Humanities Labs and the Institute's digital/communications initiatives, among other things. My doctoral training (English, Duke) was in US literature/culture and critical race/ethnic studies. Since becoming "alt-ac" I have developed an interest in animal studies as well. As an administrator I am interested in working with data in ways that promote the ethos and values of the humanities in an institutional context (e.g. using data to tell stories, articulate the sociality of knowledge).
