I am a PhD Candidate in the Department of Anthropology at Michigan State University, primarily interested in the bioarchaeology of Late Prehistoric Midwestern peoples – specifically in issues of gender, health, and social complexity in the Lower Illinois Valley Late Woodland-Mississippian transition. I have worked extensively on the excavation of the Morton Village site, a late prehistoric village in the central Illinois River Valley near Lewistown, Illinois. I am new to the Digital Humanities community, but I have been awarded a Cultural Informatics Initiative Fellowship. For my project, I am creating a digital repository for data and materials relating to Mississippian Archaeological sites (http://chi.matrix.msu.edu/2011/02/28/a-digital-repository-for-mississippian-archaeologists/).
