Just finished up a masters in history at Boise State University. I was a web dev in a past life and several years ago decided to put those skills to work bettering the academy. We created Pronetos.com as the world's first social network for scholars. We are currently adding some hosted publication tools so scholars and scholarly societies can move their publications online. We are also in the process of adding an OAI compliant repository, and working with print-on-demand technology to help reduce the cost of producing scholarly publications. Do we have it all perfected yet? Nope. But we have a vision and are excited to hang out with others who are working to get a jump start on creating the academy for the twenty-first century and beyond.
